The Ultimate VPN Comparison Spreadsheet
For someone who wants to torrent- which would I be looking for a high grade in? “ethics”, “encryption”, “no logs”, or something else?
Is Basic all I need from NordVPN?
Also, am I able to use it on multiple devices at once?
Proton vs Nord, which would you recommend, personally?
I couldn’t find on the sheet where the providers’ support for port forwarding is listed. That’s kind of an important one for me. Thanks for putting this together.
Need t;dr top 3, also top tier free list?
This spreadsheet seems to rank AirVPN pretty poorly. I’ve had great success with them, and they’re easy to use. Their desktop software could be better, but their payment systems are solid, and they have app-blocking software, which is configurable to block what you want. It’s a handy feature, but I get that it’s not for the average user.
Been using PIA for years with no complaints.
Do one where you find random Free VPNs on the chrome web store as well as on the playstore/iOS app store next!
I’d like to see a breakdown of what countries this actually works in and doesn’t. I do remember a few of these didn’t work or didn’t bypass government regulation (India and Uzbekistan for example).
update for windscribe. They claim no logs on their site. I also believe they have completed moving to a totally in-memory setup for their servers, so nothing on disk to recover. Long term user.
What would be the best option for IPTV? I think for IPTV the most Important things are Performance and privacy/no-logs??
How about wireguard connection in features maybe ?
I don’t see it mentioned anywhere but surfshark let’s you have unlimited number of devices so you can split the cost with others making it good option for dirt cheap.
All I am looking for is the following:
-
The ability to listen to the BBC Sounds music app as a UK listener from the US on my Android phone.
-
The same from either an app or a Chrome extension from my personal laptop
-
The same from the Chrome extension on my desktop at work, where I do not have administrator privileges (and I’m not fully certain the net security system will even allow this…).
-
Must do this with a minimum of interruptions and ‘fiddling with setting’ on a daily basis.
NordVPN already looks appealing, and seems to be a slightly better deal, but how is it to LIVE with using a VPN for hours on end?
Been using PIA for years. Always have been awesome service
I would say a combination of “No Logs”, “Jurisdiction” and “Encryption” if you are looking to torrent. Paid Proton is a solid one for that!
Mullvad or proton vpn are the gold standards from what I’ve seen. The main difference is whether you need to set up port forwarding or not.
Whatever you choose, make sure that you bind your torrent client to your vpn. Essentially, this is saying “hey if you can’t connect to the internet via the vpn, don’t download/upload anything at all.” This will prevent ip leaks.
Basic is enough for most people. It can be used on up to 10 devices at the same time
For general usage Nord. For torrenting or things related to it I’d go with Proton for sure
