Like I noticed I can change Netflix and access different shows. What other cool stuff? I’m sure there’s lots.
Now you can hack the matrix
The coolest stuff is rather abstracted. The use of a VPN is privacy and breaking through censorship. Thats about it.
Most people are using a VPN to download pirate material. If your in the USA and not using a VPN after a certain amount of strikes your ISP can just disable your internet service and cut you off. This prevents them from seeing the data and you getting in trouble. This is the biggest use of s VPN.
You can stream the BBC which U.K. citizens/ residents have to pay for with TV license.
Something I’ve always used a vpn for is seeing if I can buy services cheaper, things like Spotify, YouTube premium etc. Its surprising how much of a discount you can get with a vpn.
You can torrent all software, media and games you want to without having to worry about a fine
You can play multiplayer games on different servers for games that don’t let you pick, like csgo. I enjoy playing on EU servers from time to time.
Get cheaper airfare. Switch cities and watch the airfare change based on your VPN location.
Comment Merica on things.
You can see what the internet looks like around the world, rather than in the confines of what companies and news outlets show Americans
I hate it when products/services I am looking at show up on my wife’s Facebook or on Amazon.
Say bye-bye to mega-upload limiting how many files you can download.
The reason why I bought a VPN is because I hate it that my ISP was using my data and selling it for money to big corporations.
What most people do with a VPN is use it for streaming services, example if you were to connect to a UKVPN and then watch Netflix Netflix you will see different content
Lets spin the question round. What reasons did you consider for purchasing a VPN?
Commit tax fraud ; )
Seriously though, I didn’t notice any heavy censorship in USA, only other thing I can think of is access some "unethical’ website without your ISP (or school) knowing it, and that’s about it.
You can access your streaming services eg. Direct TV, Pandora etc. which do not work when you are out of the country
Providing you have a UK VPN which the BBC have not blocked.
The BBC do some VPN blocking but they are not that fanatical about it. Netflix, Hulu and other big companies are very intolerant of VPN’s.
If you need to provide a postcode for any UK streaming service, just use the postal code which Windsor Castle uses (it makes a nice joke).
I never would have guess that and I have a big trip planned next year, thank you
Torrenting for me, Ru Paul’s Drag Race on Netflix for wife.
