Does it do anything like Hola (turning you into an end point)? Is it reliable and would you recommend it?
If not, are there any other trustworthy free iOS VPN’s? I’ve been using cloak and IbVpn for a while - are they too trustworthy?

The ZenMate Malware Blocking feature is an odd little trinket that promises to shield paying ZenMate users from malicious code and snippets. The feature is quite effective but comes across as quite odd as there are quite a few services available online that block malware and spyware quite effectively. ZenMate promises to prevent websites and online services from secretly tracking users’ activity. This is a very iconic feature as there is virtually no guarantee that a 3rd party service will/won’t track a user’s internet activity. A regular users best bet is to ensure that adequate encryption levels are active during data transmission. Since encryption standards are developed for the singular purpose of data protection, using proper encryption helps ensure that the data is completely secure during transmission. ZenMate offers TLS Encryption. TLS, short for Transport Layer Security, is an upgraded version of the failed SSL encryption standard that was originally developed by Netscape. The TLS encryption protocol is over two decades old and requires constant updation to ensure that weaknesses in algorithm do not generate vulnerability in the user’s security, clearly an area in which ZenMate needs to improve.

I wouldn’t call it safe. ZenMate is subject to German law, and Germany is one of the 14 eyes countries.
It logs and sells meta data. if your not doing anything illegal then your golden 
(use tor if your looking for torrents :P)
Don’t use tor for bit torrent. It barely has enough bandwidth as is.
