Hello! If i buy PIA subscription, do i have a password manager too? or anything else? Also, is PIA REALLY zero-logging? They say that their new owner is a bit untrusted. I m very interested in my privacy! Plus, I want to somehow access my home storage from everywhere, if that’s possible!
Will it cut too the ads of my network connected devices? I want to connect at least 7-8…
PIA has officially been banned in Russia because they refused to comply with the Russian monitoring policies for VPNs. That should tell you all you need to know about how great PIA is
I’ve been using it for 2 or 3 years now, no complaints.
It doesn’t come with a password manager as far as I can tell.
I use Plex to access my home media remotely.
I use PIA for torrents and safety on public wifi. I have no complaints.
Just renewed my 3 year subscription. It’s been good for me!
I had been using PIA for four or five years when the announcement came out that they had been sold to a company that was a bit shady. I pondered long and hard about where I would go when my subscription came due for renewal.
I ended up biting the bullet and doing a one year renewal with the new owner. I couldn’t be happier that I did! Private Internet Access has exceeded my expectations and I plan to stay with them for many years to come.
Been with them over 6 years. Not a single complaint here.
I use them because I found the split tunnelling the easiest
guys, you saved the day. i need a vpn for torrenting and for protect my privacy. i hate all those junks that come without a vpn. thanks so much! because it comes in an affordable price too…
PIA has been great for me, only thing is I’ve recently noticed is captcha on Google sometimes. If anyone has any tips, would appreciate it.
Been using PIA for about 8 years and my only complaint is that it slows down my connection. Other than that it’s been great.
Look for a 3year deal for Black Friday I think it’s on now actually. PIA works great.
First… no I do not believe you get a free password manager with purchase… you can host one line Vaultwarden very easily or use a free hosted solution.
Second, yes they use RAM disk servers so they are reset on reboot and retain no stored data. Essentially they are dumb relay connectors that mask your identity and provide you anonymity.
Third, you feel free to put your home storage on the internet and see how long it takes a novice hacker to find it and an experienced one to encrypt it and leave you a ransom note for money to decrypt it. Using PIA to host your storage somehow isn’t really a feasible plan you will need a reverse proxy or use a solution like Cloudflare Secure Tunnels.
Last, it will do very little for as blocking that is not the job of a VPN. Its job is to prevent your ISP and other end points like websites from tracking your information by encrypting your connection but it is only as good as you are. You nice you are connected your surfing habits can give you away in 3 seconds. Your browser choice can still leak all the information about your device if you choose to use a main stream browser. None of this is on PIA or a cause and effect of VPN…
I have used PIA for over 7 years and have never had a problem anytime I have been connected and used their network. I have used some pretty thorough tools to test my data and what is can be read and so far nothing I have ever tested has shown to be “compromised”
PIA user since 2015 here. I have 0 complaints. I have turned many people onto using a VPN for years and many of them use PIA. I should probably be getting a check from them for the referrals/advertising.
PIA is legit. I even use it inside of my travel router so I don’t have to install it on all clients of my WIFI, it does the VPN from my router outbound. So, I know they improved because that was only available with NordVPN previously. I’ve have PIA maybe 5 years now, used it all around the world no complaints, no arrests.
Ivw used PIA for years. No complaints.
If you need port forwarding for torrents it’s kind of it. But if you don’t need that then Mullvad is superior imo. Better mobile app and integration into glinet travel routers.
They have testified previously in open court under penalty of perjury that they do not log. Also, they have demonstrated the willingness before to exit a country entirely if they force the issue and try to institute mandatory logging.
Use 1Password.
I’ve been using them since the beginning. No complaints from me.
