Hello I want to watch Netflix and Disney plus on my roku in other countries, I honestly am not the best with technology but I read that you can’t directly use a VPN on a roku tv, you have to somehow install it to your phone then use that on your tv or something. Please explain to me how this works, I want to know what I’m doing so I don’t mess it up
Buy an Apple TV or install it on your router or get a new TV 
and new TV that supports android
You can also install it on your Mac, the problem is some streaming services don’t allow you to airplay that’s how you get from your Mac to your TV and also they don’t like HDMI cables from laptop to TV either so you may be SOL

Basically you need to install a VPN on your router. If you have a Windows computer and your network card supports hosted network mode you can use your computer as a virtual VPN router. Otherwise, another good solution is to use an Amazon Fire TV instead of Roku. Then you can install your VPN provider app on the Fire TV directly which is much easier than other solutions.
one thing you can try, connect your phone to the vpn, go on disney app and click movie, then airplay it to your roku tv?

Since posting this I bought a firestick and just use it that way, it’s super easy since you just need the app for the VPN to do it
Is there a way to do it with your phone? I do not own a computer 
That will work for some provides and will probably work for most commonly used streaming services, Netflix but some video is not able to be Airplay or streamed cast - the websites somehow block it from using Airplay or being streamed. That when one pulls out the HDMI cable - of course us Mac folks are SOL with new Macs and need a little $15 USB-C to HDMI adaptor.
Not that I’m aware of. I suggest you look into buying a Fire TV stick. That’s the easiest way and they are relatively inexpensive.
