How do I use Netflix with a VPN on a TV without having the VPN installed on the TV?

I have a TV I use to mainly watch YouTube and Netflix. I use a VPN with Netflix when on my computer, but I don’t want to get one on the TV, because of reasons. Anyway I can somehow stream my phone to my TV or something like that? I don’t want to stream my PC because I don’t want to turn it on everytime I want to watch Netflix.

Options are limited sometimes.

A VPN router would apply the VPN at the networking level so any devices connected to the router that is using VPN would see all the traffic going to the VPN server.

There are devices out there that’ll take the VPN apps. Google Chromecast with TV is one such device. Alternatively, consider a smart DNS service rather than VPN if using Apple TV as the Apple TV doesn’t support VPN clients.

Amazon fire stick or Chromecast w/ Google tv both allowed me to download surfshark app. I found this to be the best method.

I couldn’t get casting to my TV to work with my VPN.

You could get VPN on your router but I tried that and found it more trouble than it was worth but ymmv.

Another option is if your computer, laptop, or phone has a WiFi hotspot. You can connect to VPN them fire up the hotspot and connect your TV to that.

Just learned this this week installing for my neighbor. Get a nordvpn and enable ‘smart dns’, on your phone or any other device. It ill give you a primary and secondary IP. go to your TV’s network settings and change the DNS settings to manual and insert the nord IP. Then your good to go.

You can also route your internet traffic through laptop. I did it until I noticed that I can also just install the app on my TV

You can just manually set the DNS server from you VPN on the network settings of the TV.

ExpressVPN is what I use. I shared a VPN connection from my Windows laptop and connected my TV/Chromecast to that.

I am in Australia trying to access US Netflix. I have tried all the servers. I can see the US programs but there is no play button, only for local content
