I have tried downloading latest and I try to connect but it immediately takes me to to the nordvpn website.
I do not want to connect because it could be compromising. I just want to first login via nordvpn and connect.

Nord has decided to force their VPN clients to use Nord Account when logging in instead of just connecting to the VPN server. Rather stupidly, that involves disabling the kill switch and opening your web browser. Our options seem to be:
There is no good reason for this. I’m on the fence about keeping Nord because of it.

Support confirmed a browser-based login will continue to be required in future VPN client updates.
Been that a few weeks now. Pain in the butt.
It’s been like that for awhile. I ended my service because of this specific reason. I’ve my password manager to Bitwarden and VPN service over to ProtonVPN.
I tried the reinstall, clear cache, reboots and so on and it just showed me that login screen on the app that takes you to the webpage which tells you logged in ok and go back to the app but the app still says login which takes you back to the site grrr
I found out that NoScript browser extension was blocking the site from calling the app with the login details I put in on the site. I had set all to temporary allow in NoScript but that didnt work but disabling no script all together then allowed the site to write login credentials to the app.
If you have no script installed try disabling it just to get nord up and running and then enable the no script again.
If you have other apps on your browser that like NoScript try temporally disabling them just to get the app back up.
I agree with others we should be able to just put our login details into the app and have fk all to do with logging into nordvpn website that then passes the credentials back to the app

man, I genuinely thought I might have been hijacked at first. not a cool move at all to make this a login requirement. I canceled my auto-renew, and unless this changes, I’ll unfortunately be looking for a new VPN company 
If you login to the my account page they offer an api key maybe this can be integrated into the application you are using.

Is it possible to log in if your system is headless? Because it seems like it’s not.
