Does anyone know where I can download the latest free MSI installer? If I download from the support site, it is the version that wants a license.
If I download the “online” version and then look in the Appdata Temp folder, it is just the exe - no MSI.
Open the exe to install and dont go past the first window, open the dir: C:\ProgramData\Applications\Cache"guid of fclient ver"
The msi is temporarily extracted to that dir during the install.
The app does install w/ “paid” license for thirty days, then just reverts to the free version unless you install a license.
It’s on the Fortinet site, just have to look for it. It’s a small link that says FortiClient VPN Only under the FortiClient download button

2 years later… mate, you are a gem
Found this today, Thanks! Usefull trick
Posted 3y ago-- helped me today. Cheers man.
There is no revert. If the license runs out you have a paperweight.
That has not been my experience whatsoever.
We may be talking apples & bananas. I was assuming the OP was referring to the Forticlient VPN, and not Forticlient EMS. Here’s a guide that talks about the features of both & the 30-day trial portion: Feature comparison of FortiClient standalone and licensed versions | FortiClient 7.0.2 | Fortinet Document Library
