Bumble knows my real location despite VPN

Hi there, first time poster to this community.

As the title states, I’m using a VPN paid service for changing my location on Bumble but it knows where I really am. I’ve tried both on cell and computer (3 different browsers) but no luck.

It’s weird because I tried this a couple of months ago and it worked.

Anybody could help me out please?

Thank you

VPN and datacenter IP’s are well-known. Any decent app developer will disregard these IP’s when it comes to determining your location.

If you also disabled the location permission on your phone, Bumble is probably looking at other things:

  • The last known non-VPN IP.

  • The country where your credit card was issued.

  • The timezone reported by your phone.

  • The country you listed on Facebook or other linked social media.

  • Country of linked phone number.

etc.

I mean… The real question is why in this instance? Are you trying to catfish people?

Are you letting it access your location on your phone?

If on Android, you can use a location spoofing app. Works well for me. Unlike a VPN, it changes the GPS coordinates reported by your phone. Like you, I use it for travel and checking things out at an upcoming destination.

Hard to say exactly what’s going on, but there are a number of ways for a device to determine its location, such as mapping surrounding Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals. You could start by making sure Bumble doesn’t have access to those or location services.

Bekommt man den Premium Modus iwie billiger zb mit vpn?

Wtf? Are you kidding me??

I travel for work and want to match with people in the city where I actually live.

Has that work for changing locations on Bumble? If so which app do you recommend?

So use it where you actually live I mean LOL duH!

No you should not. Do you have a kill switch enabled on your vpn? Which vpn are you using?

I do; and I’m using IP Vanish
