I’ve had Astrill for a while and more than ever it’s just horrible on my iphone, but same locations on iPad and my Macbook work no problem at all. Is there a secret trick to make it work the same on iPhone?
Try it on your phone on the same wifi as your iPad and MacBook, and turn off the cell service.
Does it work? Then it’s your cell service provider.
It doesn’t have Stealth or OpenWEB modes on iOS, only openvpn, which is badly broken.
I just disconnect it and reconnect it and it can work for several seconds or several hours.
Astrill on iOS is really bad, haven’t been updated for years and use old protocol. Get an Android, you will have all the protocols (Openweb, Stealth…).

Dude Astrill on iPhone is really solid for me. Literally works instantly 95% of the time with wifi or data. The other 5% of the time it just needs a cheeky off/on move and it works again.
Maybe it’s the server you’re using? I mainly use Los Angeles 10G or Taiwan. Check those out!

Astrill works fine on phone. Change your location. Play around with OpenWeb and StealthWeb.
I was going to buy an iPhone now I’m not convinced. It doesn’t work well on my iPad but my macbook is amazing.
It works perfectly on my huawei.

Just get shadowrocket, and purchase from a reliable provider, wannaflix is good start for beginners. Vless/Vmess/Trojan protocols don’t get blocked easily
I get inconsistent usage on cellular (China Mobile). Never have issues on WiFi.

iPhone doesn’t have openweb and stealth options, and doesn’t allow for app filtering. It’s more to do with how iOS handles VPNs, not just Astrill.
FYI, I have an iPhone 13. Never a problem.
Astrill definitely works better on Android-based phones than on iOS, but having recently switched to an iPhone, I think it’s the better “China foreigner” phone. I don’t need a VPN to access the app store, even vpn and other restricted apps, and all the China apps work fine without having to sideload from sketchy markets.
Did contact the support… problem with iphone 13 still exists. Sometimes the app freezes on connect, or appears to be connected but is not…
Wondering why the features are not the same iOS/Android? Apps exclude would help a lot. As the VPN seems to work enough for occasional usage.
And that update was only because the iOS 11 update (or something around that time) broke it. It’s only had one update since 2015 or so and that was the one from a few years ago.
why not invest in a huawei? My honor X40 has a 5,200 lithium battery and like a 54mp camera =o
