I’ve been using a vpn on my laptop for years now. I decided to try it out on my iphone and noticed it wouldn’t change my location on the browser unless I went to a private window. Prime would switch my location too but Netflix wouldn’t. And neither would any social media.
I found an article about how ios has a bug where they tend to use your original ip regardless.
But I was still curious about using a vpn on a smartphone so I ordered a $40 LG android and… same thing? Not sure what to do. Any help or info would be appreciated. The browser, twitter, and instagram showed my actual location on the android I’d never logged into before. I just wanted to screw around and change my location on social media and now I’m in to deep to let it go haha.
If you apps locate you over the location services (GPS for example) then a VPN won’t help. Also when you log in they probably assume your last location.
In addition to a VPN you can (or rather, have to) use a GPS spoofer for this. I use one called Fake GPS Free, works properly for short term use (you do get disconnected from time to time) but for temporarily spoofing your location it really does the job.
Make sure your phone’s got location services on. Check your VPN’s setup, watch out for IP leaks, give the VPN the right permissions. Restart both your VPN app and your phone, update your apps and system. Avoid battery-saving modes and try connecting to different servers. If it’s still not working, reach out to your VPN provider’s support for help
If you’re having trouble changing your location, you can try using third-party tools like AnyTo,3utools or LocaChange. These apps can help spoof your location.
Are you not concerned with the spoofing apps hacking your device? It seems like AnyTo and ITools has a ton of access when I have tried to download them
