I’ve seen a lot of ads on YouTube about surfshark but all the ads make me think they probably sell a lot of data. Are there any that don’t sell all of your data that’s really going to protect you and what you’re doing? This is for an iPhone.

VPNs encrypt your data, they don’t sell it. Personally
I use MalwareBytes Privacy because it works on multiple platforms, has good controls and is not expensive.
A VPN won’t really offer much protection; that’s not what they’re for and the companies advertising that are being misleading
Everyone has different opinions on the adjective “best”.
For me, VPN can achieve:
- Basic functions (if it can be provided for free): bypass the ban, visit the website anonymously
- Advanced functions: more protocols, more stable, faster and no ads
If it meets such scenarios, I will let this app stay on my phone

Of course even that is not enough, they could easily still sell your data as they still have the encryption keys. but i still trust it plus its not like a have the moon landing documents
