Hi so I’m an off campus student and I need to access some sources online using the UF VPN but I’m having trouble. When it asks me to authenticate with my gatorlink ID it takes a while and tells me that “connection attempt has timed out” and to verify internet connectivity. My internet is working perfectly fine but every time I try again the same thing happens. Does anyone know what to do?

Is it waiting for your 2 factor auth approval?

Maybe add an exception in your firewall?

However, as others have mentioned, it is likely waiting for you to approve the DUO push.

Hi, I work with the Help Desk.

As soon as you put in your username and password, it automatically sends the Duo push to your default device. Immediately after putting those in, check the Duo app, and pull down from the top to refresh it if you need to. The push should come through right then.

If it doesn’t for some reason, you can use the passcode generated by Duo (the 6-digit number underneath “University of Florida”). Simply put it after your password, separated by a comma, with no spaces. i.e., password,code

Also, make sure you’re not putting "@ufl.edu" at the end of the username.

I been a distances student for a while. I never have any luck with the VPN.
If you are in state still UF has several research and education centers.

If you see one close by give them a call on Monday see if they will let you use a computer lab.
