I bought AdGuard to VPN on my iPhone to LA (I’m in Texas). I thought I could VPN on an LA server which meant the GPS on my iPhone would show in LA. It’s not working. Is this possible with AdGuard VPN?
Your network location “is” on LA when you are connected to Adguard VPN, but your iPhone will show your “exact” geolocation on Maps or the apps that has the location services activated, as the iPhone uses the GPS satellites to locate itself on the map. When you browse the web, if you have Private Relay turned off, the network location will show that you are in LA as the webpages don’t have direct access to your GPS.
There are multiple ways to detect your real location when you are using VPN. Many sites can detect the time zone set on your device by planting a special javascript code into their pages, so when you open a page the site will see LA IP address however they will also see that you are not in Pacific time.
The VPN service you can try (I never used it) is Windscribe. They say that their browser extensions can spoof GPS and also make your time zone to be the same as your VPN connection. I am not sure whether these features are available in their mobile apps.
If AdGuard people are reading this thread - please consider adding these features ASAP along with IP address rotation.

There is an f-droid app that can spoof your location. It is called “Private Location”.
Not sure if there is something comparable on iOS.
Well, I know that it can be done. It is called location spoofing, basically it makes the iPhone believe that you are on a selected GPS location. But it can be tricky and I don’t know if it will work continuously.

Keep in mind that you’ll need a Windows PC to do this and it is external software so you need to pay attention of what are you installing in your computer. And also, test it before various times to know what are the limits of this.
