VPN that will show me in NC

Hello,

I will be traveling internationally for a couple weeks and I want to access my sports betting apps while away.

Is there any VPN service available that allows me to change my location to somewhere in NC? It doesn’t have to be free.

Thanks

I would imagine most if not all VPNs will allow you to do this. However, a lot of sports betting apps won’t let you log in/place bets while connected to a VPN.

You can go a week without gambling.

They will likely be blocked. Detecting VPN connections is trivial for any of the major providers. You could always just setup a remote connection software on your computer while you’re away and use that. Then it will be coming from your own residential IP instead.

My buddy lives in Virginia where gambling has been legal since 2021. He’s also very tech savvy and always runs a vpn on all of his devices.

When he wants to gamble he has to turn the vpn off because the betting apps detect it.

There’s no way around it. If the betting apps get caught letting people bet from illegal states then the gambling commission will fine the shit out of them and maybe even take away their license.

NordVPN has a Charlotte node.

You just pick the ‘fastest location’ and it typically pops up a server within the same state. The only reason it may not work that way is if the faster location is in an adjacent state but that’s assuming its based on fastest location and not determining it also based on your real IP. For me Surfshark has always had the fastest location in NC.

Surf shark lets you select Charlotte

If you can use the website instead of the app, you can likely circumvent VPN restrictions.

MullvadVpn has a server Raleigh location. Private internet Access also has a Charlotte server location.

This is the correct answer.

They allow me to choose the city from a list of cities but none in NC specifically. Good call on the vpn block though.

No can do. March madness + promo period brother

What’s crazy is you have to install a geolocater that checks for remote software. Very intrusive

I have a remote access software on my work laptop and FD wouldn’t let me verify access on it without disabling that. Makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. My challenge is I won’t be in the US so I need to be able to select NC specifically as my preferred server. That way the apps will let me log in.

The only work around I know is using a trash site like Bovada…good luck with that

If it checks for that, it will 100% pick up any VPN software. You would have to install the VPN on a router for any chance and like I said, detecting VPN IPs is incredibly trivial.

The only way I could see to not be detected is to buy some KVM card to install into your computer and then secure it for remote access. It’s a hardware remote access solution which is used generally for server access.

Yep. These betting apps are legal in 38 states. NC is late to the game.

If there were a way around their geolocation tech then somebody would have figured it out by now. And as far as I can tell, nobody has figured it out.

Surfshark will let you pick through a list of cities. I checked now and it saves your most recent server as well.
