Op seems to want a setting where you can select programs to use the vpn for, instead of selecting programs that don’t use the vpn. Mullvad only has the second type of split tunneling.
My god are you blind
AFAIK, all apps use the Mullvad VPN by default when split tunneling is disabled. What are you talking about? Do you even use Mullvad?
Clearly he’s just a Mullvad customer who uses split tunneling!
You should ask yourself that. I’m a Mullvad customer who uses split tunneling. What’s your story?
Can you explain the procedure on how to split tunnel one app and nothing else? Let’s say, I only want Microsoft Teams to connect to Mullvad VPN and nothing else. How would you do it on Windows?
If you want only one app to use Mullvad VPN, then you need to use a managed router and create a rule that only allows that one app to use the VPN.
Well, that’s what people were trying to say. That it’s not possible on the native Mullvad app. Now we established that, how come you put up a fight when others mentioned that it’s not possible on Mullvad?
I assumed it was already known that Mullvad can be configured on a managed router. Simply saying that this can’t be accomplished with the Mullvad app is an incomplete answer. The OP was looking for a simple solution with the Mullvad app which can only be accomplished by excluding everything aside from one app. Clearly, this can be accomplished in a tedious and a time consuming manner with the Mullvad app, which is something that the OP was trying to avoid. Thus, using a managed router is the only correct answer, not “this can’t be accomplished with Mullvad app”.
That’s not what you said before. You presented yourself as avoiding the argument and instead of saying this, you kept saying, “I use split tunneling” which in itself is an incomplete argument to what’s being addressed. You came off as trolling instead of presenting a solution. Why did you do that?
Because you kept insisting that Mullvad app couldn’t accomplish what the OP wanted to do - - that was never the issue. The issue was to accomplish what the OP wanted to do in a less tedious and less time consuming manner. I kept explaining the Mullvad app can exclude apps from using the VPN, and you kept insisting that wasn’t possible with the app. You wouldn’t concede that you were wrong and then started trolling without offering another solution.
