Windscribe has one of the only free plans I’ve seen recommended by vpn review sites. It’s limited to 10gb a month, but a data limit is “good” on a free vpn because if it’s unlimited they are almost certainly selling your data.

Free VPNs aren’t something I’d recommend but if you really have to use one then I’d suggest that you pick from ProtonVPN, Windscribe or Betternet.
I have said this a few times but with VPNs, good and free tend to be mutually exclusive unfortunately…
You can always just use the free trials as well if you don’t want to buy straightaway. I used one of those comparison posts and it’s been the best purchase I have made in a while!
