I have had the free version for years now, didn’t use it often. Forgotten the password and can’t reset it (want it for a new laptop).
Anyway, thinking to pay for one now …so why choose Windscribe and not any of the others that advertise all over the place? What’s the advantages please?
If I buy can I have it on a laptop and TV or other devices together?
Yegor Sak. He holds transparency way far above other VPN providers. Windscribe as a company went completly above and beyond during the July 2021 Ukraine double server seizure. All the servers now have encryption so even if FVEY, 9 or 14eyes try to seize hardware they only get air, no logs, nothing. I remain a pro subscriber. Service is good for the price I pay. One mistake in eight years is fairly good.
It’s got scalable plans that start at free, range through cheap to cheaper than most, it’s reliable & fast, simple to use, and they provide free service during conflict and disaster to vulnerable people. I’m Canadian, so I’m supporting a Canadian company.
Windscribe is a great VPN. It’s a great offer with their unlimited devices policy. They are very transparent and trustworthy. When it comes to VPNs and online research, it can get frustrating very quickly due to the affiliate site spam.
My choice of top-tier VPN providers are these three: Windscribe, ProtonVPN, and Mullvad
I would personally avoid the spammed everywhere VPNs like Nord, Surshark, ExpressVPN etc…
Funny you asked. I wanted to try a different vpn today just because I found some issues with windscribe. I’m sure they will be fixed in a future update. As soon as I installed the software. My laptop started to lag. It was consuming resources pretty heavily. Once it started to run so so. The vpn I tried could not find a server at the new york location and just kept looking around for a server. Im not kidding you about this. It could not find a server. When it did, it would disconnect and reconnect and repeat. Then it would connect to another location. I cannot have that. I need to always use new york. Bottom line, i stayed with my windscribe. It just connects with no issues and its very stable. No system lag at all. The vpn i tried and found to suck… Is a supposedly heavy weight, nordvpn. I dont recommend it at all. Stick with windscribe, pay the $2 and you are good to go.
Seriously? If you actually do some research you will find out Winscribe is the best underrated VPN on the market and if you already used their free version then you would already know why.
For fuck sakes 5 years ago I was in the market for a VPN did some research found Windscribe signed up for a free account jumped through all the hoops to get 50 or a 100 GB for free then went and downloaded the file that got me a letter sent in the mail waited a month got no letter and I paid windscribe for a yearly subscription and been a pro user ever since.
All the big brand VPN’s are shady but project an image that they are not shady.
But the choice is up to you.
So get off reddit do some research and come to your own conclusion.
Tip start with googling best cheap VPN and go from there.
It had a good amount of servers and good pricing, there’s offers all the time where you can get a discount for your purchase.
For my case, I like to have as many locations as possible.
In regards to speeds, that’s the biggest downside for me. A lot of servers are very fast, but I have no way to know which ones are slow, but some of them are slow. You can still see which servers are down or having issues in the status page.
This is my reason, sometimes I have to test some devices, run using VPN simultaneously for a few minutes / hours, custom port and ROBERT also very useful, and no, I’m not doing spam.
I can’t believe 5 years still using Windscribe, and ControlD for 2 years.
Does the free proton let you torrent. It didn’t seem to count torrent data when I used it. (Downloaded around 5gig of torrents but proton said only about 200meg downloaded…that seems like on web surfing is counted)
In regards to speeds, that’s the biggest downside for me. A lot of servers are very fast, but I have no way to know which ones are slow, but some of them are slow
You could try setting General > Display Latency to Ms instead of Bars (I’m not sure if that’s what you mean, but if it is, then this might help) (it will show the latency of the location to the right of it).
Edit: changed the quotation marks to a quote block (I couldn’t figure out how to add a quote block on mobile (if that’s even possible)).
Just want to add aside from most benefits installing Windscribe itself fixed routing\network issue with authentication servers for Gigantic.
3 PC - I had no issue with the game but both my bro PCs can’t i said that i dont even have it on. INstalled it on 1 and poof it worked. No more authentication errors
