ProtonVPN and Whoer

After connecting to ProtonVPN free, I usually go to whoer to ensure that connection is indeed private.

A couple of points that I see that I have questions on

(1) Sometimes whoer states that " Anonymizer : Yes ", Ideally it should be NO

(2) DNS leak test on whoer sometimes provides a DNS that is a bit different from the IP that is assigned to me. Same ISP.

What do the above mean? Should one be concerned about the above?

I‘d advise to use https://dnsleaktest.com and https://ip.me.

Compare before and after connecting to the vpn server and report back here.

Also what platform are you talking about?

This is the first time Im hearing about Whoer - n I have just use it. It is indeed scary that when using whoer , they know so much about my browser , where Im from and my OS. on my computer.

Ok , now to reply to yr query - I dont think it is as much of a concern , but probably you have used proton’s free version - just like me, there is no " secure core ". As for me I didnt see my own country Isp , so assuming mine is safer. What Im worried about is the level of Blacklisted - whether my Virtual IP given by proton vpn free is legit - sadly Japan servers Ip has a degree of blacklist.

If someone were to know about this - please reply me - as I worry - may be someone in the recent past did some illegal things on Japan’s virtual IP server?

yes, sites can scrape a lot of information from modern browsers.

that’s why using a good browser, disabling many settings such as WebRTC etc. are very important

Thanks for the info. I have just check out about Disable WebRTC add-on in Firefox.
