NordVPN makes it’s Meshnet feature free for everyone

As first announced on NordVPN blog post here, NordVPN’s Meshnet is now free for everyone. Even if you don’t pay for a NordVPN plan, you can still access all of Meshnet’s best features, from traffic routing to secure file sharing.

So, if you were looking for something familiar to Meshnet - you must check it out!

Here’s a list of a few older threads about the feature with most popular use cases and tips on how to get started and use the tool:

Since the first release, they have revamped Meshnet a lot, including a more convenient file-sharing functionality, so in our opinion now it looks and feels very fresh and intuitive to use.

It would be interesting to hear have you already tried it? What use cases have you already found?

Sounds like something similar to the old Hamachi. However, Hamachi was kind of a pain to use long-term because it would randomly decide not to connect or you could lose your virtual networks and have to start from scratch. Maybe this won’t have those issues? The open source Linux app sounds especially interesting for this, as it might make possible all sorts of advanced routing, forwarding, or firewalling possible through the Linux system itself that isn’t directly configurable from the app.

It’s free, great… but don’t put MeshNet context menus on EVERY SINGLE FILE AND FOLDER in Windows when it’s a feature I’m not using and have turned off! Beyond annoying!

Just wondering… if I have slow internet 50/10 then if I connect remotely to my computer, the max speed I get is the upload speed of the internet (10) right ?

Not much good for streaming video.

HOW … do you remove it? as in … delete it from being annoying thing i dont care to use mainly because it just appeared without asking would i like to use it.

I dont want context menu … in fact … 1st on top every right click i make … I give it 2 days max before uninstalling NORD and asking for a refund.

New features should be offered, not pushed into ones face by force and deception.

Agree, awesome news from Nords team. Speaking about the Meshnet account - yes, you simply download it, create an account and use it.

possible to set up multiple Nord accounts to organize mesh networks.

I think this place has remained the same as before. If you want to connect different accounts, you need to receive/send an invitation. However, it could be an idea for further development of the tool.
