Latest IVPN app versions are out on all platforms, featuring quantum-resistant WireGuard connections, and an improved AntiTracker where you can pick from 3 combined or 7 popular individual block lists. https://www.ivpn.net/apps/
IVPN for Desktop releases (v3.11.14 for macOS, Linux, v3.11.15 for Windows) contain further improvements and fixes, eg. Pause/Resume connections from CLI, and OpenVPN and WireGuard updates. Manual updates are now available for desktop apps. Full changelog: https://github.com/ivpn/desktop-app/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md
IVPN for Android v2.10.0 is now available through our website, via Accrescent app store, and the Play Store. Changelog: https://github.com/ivpn/android-app/blob/develop/CHANGELOG.md
With IVPN for iOS v.2.10.0 we have released improvements on WireGuard key rotations when connected with OpenVPN, and removed the Kill Switch functionality. Full changelog: https://github.com/ivpn/ios-app/blob/develop/CHANGELOG.md
You can read more about the reasons for kill switch removal from IVPN for iOS here: https://www.ivpn.net/blog/removal-of-kill-switch-from-our-ios-app-due-to-apple-ip-leak-issue/
Note on updating apps: Quantum-resistant WireGuard key exchange is initiated on the next key rotation (automatic or manual) after the update. Read our FAQ on quantum-resistant connections for more: https://www.ivpn.net/knowledgebase/general/quantum-resistance-faq/
Note on updating the iOS app: make sure your kill switch is turned off to avoid connection issues.
Regarding AntiTracker Plus:
You can now choose from different blocklists to help you block ads and unwanted trackers: three combined lists with different levels of blocking effectiveness, and seven popular individual lists
http://ivpn.net/blog/better-tracker-blocking-controls-with-antitracker-plus/
Our combined and individual AntiTracker list options rely on open-source blocklists, updated by dedicated maintainers. Those featured include HaGeZi, OISD, Developer Dan’s lists, Steven Black hosts. You can review all available options here: https://www.ivpn.net/knowledgebase/general/antitracker-plus-lists-explained/
To get started after updating your IVPN apps, access the AntiTracker settings. Here you can select one of the new predefined, or individual lists to use under the "Block List” option.
For existing app installs, OISD Big blocklist is unchanged as default selection. Hardcore mode, an additional AntiTracker setting that blocks all domains of Google and Facebook, is available in combination with each list.
Expanding on adding quantum-resistant connections:
You can learn about the importance of this problem and ways to mitigate it in our blog post: https://www.ivpn.net/blog/quantum-resistant-wireguard-connections-ivpn-apps/
Starting with the latest version of all IVPN apps, quantum-resistant WireGuard connections are initiated by default (after the next key rotation). No manual action is required to enable this feature. Quantum resistance does not affect the latency or the speed of the connection.
Note: this approach doesn’t make the VPN connection entirely quantum-proof, as it still relies on classical cryptographic primitives. The blog post explains the basics; we have also published a write-up about the technical details relating to quantum resistance. It elaborates on key encapsulation mechanisms and our implementation of PreSharedKey for WireGuard: https://www.ivpn.net/knowledgebase/general/quantum-resistant-vpn-connections/
To address more practical questions, you can also consult our Quantum Resistance FAQ that discusses key rotations, verifyng quantum-resistance for your WireGuard connection and more: https://www.ivpn.net/knowledgebase/general/quantum-resistance-faq/
Why was the kill switch removed off of iOS?
This is better than expected. Thank you for the update.
