I’m on Windscribe and I have zero complaints about its speed and security. I’m not advocating one VPN over another but I just wanted to share my experience e with Windscribe. No one VPN is perfect but if you want to try Windscribe, they do have a 10g per month free version for anyone on the fence.
I’ve never had issues with it, but like most VPNs, I have read on here that some people have had issues
Yeh Mullvad is best.
Its easier to setup and use, it has a kill switch and has a really good price.
I have your post bookmarked. I’m a Mullvad convert after reading that post and doing some of my own research. Thank you!
Thanks. I had originally posted this in another sub after searching but it was deleted and redirected here and I forgot to search first. Besides, wouldn’t that list typically be based off of one person’s opinion anyways?
I agree it’s muchhh better than express VPN or the ones advertised on all “tech channels” in every way but not as fast as mullvad (in my experience of trying both for 2-3 months). Not a huge difference but noticable. However it does support streaming unlike mullvad, so I’m sticking with windscribe.
Like I said my testing is done while traveling, in the US I think their speeds would be pretty similar.
Switched to mullvad as my 5 year subscription to windscribe comes to end next month.
Mullvad alo has a killswitch which is auto, much cheaper and more privacy oriented idk what you are on about. Mullvad is also easy to setup have it both on PC and phone.
I believe the person who posted that statement was referring to this:
It was a big “oops”. I personally have used Windscribe without any issues or concerns, even after this, but am gradually transitioning over to Mullvad. Better speeds and commitment to privacy IMO.
UPDATE: I just installed Windscrib again and ran it with Spybuster and it passed this time. THey must have fixed the issue.
Hi, so we do reviews on products and apps. I started doing reviews on VPNs without affiliate links or being paid so people would have a place they could come to and trust the information they were getting without getting fed affiliate links. Anyways when I started this the first test I ran on all the VPNs we are testing was a tool that checks if they are using Russian or Belarus and servers. You can find out more about this tool here. https://macpaw.com/news/data-protector-spy-busterall of them passed except Windscribe. I brought this up to them and they just unfollowed me and said it was like any antivirus saying they are bad. Not much of a defense or explanation. I have not run the test in a few months so maybe they have removed the servers they were using but all information routing through them were subject to Russin laws and was pretty much up for grabs. I no longer have Windscribe installed on my Mac for this reason. They used to be my go-to up until this happened. I am using Mullvad for stuff I care about. Since you still have it I would run SpyBuster and see if it’s still insecure. I hope this helps.
That’s why that list is made of simple, objective and verifiable criteria
I meant better than expressVPN and NortonVPN.
Nord and Mullvad are the top 2 RN
Yeah mullvad has Killswitch enabled by default that YOU CANT TURN OFF
Unfortunately, that is not what I was referring to. I responded to his comment where you can see what the experience was. It used to be my go-to VPN so it sucks that I was able to test it and find that it was using Russin servers. It’s been a few months since I brought it to their attention so maybe after unfollowing me and saying it was just like Anti virus saying they are bad that they decided to fix it.
dont you dare put nord with mullvad
They both really good, mullvad is a bit better because of they don’t require an email to create an account with them
