They are also a horrible company
Old post, I know, it doesnt the free version require you to sign up for email based advertisement (at least for 10gb)? If so I would assume that it helps keep the free version available.
I understand that, but you missed my point. You’re saying simply by telling law enforcement that you have no logs, they just walk away? They don’t ask for banking records? They don’t demand authentication? Verification? Have you been approached with warrants? If so, what’s to stop them doing what was done in Europe and having your computers seized?
This is Reddit, people just skim for shit they can argue with and ignore everything else.
I’ve thought it was to pull the power!
How so? Trying to get into a VPN so I’m just curious
maybe they haven’t traced any international criminal masterminds to Windscribe, and the small fry they’re after aren’t worth the effort. Maybe the vpn is only one lead to follow.
I notice that u/WindscribeSupport didn’t reply to this although maybe it’s because they’ve already answered it before (kind of). I feel like these are okay questions to ask. Asking questions like these only makes things better and clearer and more transparent although may seem aggressive or annoying but should make windscribe better at the end of the day which should be all our goals. So I don’t understand the downvotes… Why the downvotes, it’s legit questions? I guess a possible answer is that - besides incident in Ukraine which I believe Windscribe voluntary? disclosed - so far LE (law enforcement) haven’t served warrants and seized hardware etc.? Or probably or can’t be exactly disclosed in public forum like this? Is the plan with running the servers in RAM to switch things off as LE breach (I imagine LE aren’t going to knock and wait for door to open) or don’t really care (although windscribe must care as according to Ukraine incident it would have been better to rather be running everything in volatile memory though so must be a reason/benefit like killing power to the RAM?). I think there was also a configuration etc. mistake which was the main issue but still must be beneficial to run all in volatile storage? Edit: typos
Google it.
Horrible company and owner, bad history, leaks.
Use Mulvad or Windscribe since they are recommended by the VPN subreddit.
And no, I’m not gonna give you a referral link
since I’m not a bot
Can’t use Windscribe anyways Bc it tells me my email is disposable lmao
What? Which provider?
Can’t you make another one?
I can but my email is with att and it’s the only one I really check. Idk what important stuff Windscribe sends you with the email so I don’t really wanna use it on one of my alts that I use for random bs
You should definitely use Gmail, it’s much better (not really for privacy, but for privacy you gotta pay).
Also you can make another mail and setup forwarding to your att mail?
Probably can do the forwarding bit for my att. I have a couple gmails so I’ll just end up doing what you said first. Thanks for the tips
