I’m planning to switch from Windows to macOS, so I’d like to know if I can use Astrill VPN with a Macbook with an M2 or M3 chip and macOS 14?
In addition, I saw the macOS version requirements on the download page of the official website, which only mentioned Mac OS X 10.14+, macOS 11, and macOS 12. Does it mean that macOS13 and 14 cannot be used?
Is anyone like me? Can it be used normally?
MacOS contains its now VPM client … means you don’t need to install a thrift party software for that … the only information you need is … probably described on the website of your VPN provider which means you need and access point, username, password and encryption method …
If your Provider only mention older MacOS versions that doesn’t mean, it is not working on macOS Sonoma except … they directly warn on its website about using this software on macOS Sonoma … which I didn’t see …
astrill have an mac app that work on M series chips. so yes it also work under macos 14

I recently installed macOS 12 on a virtual machine and tested the VPN, and everything is working fine for the time being. Because my PC cannot install the latest macOS 14 through a virtual machine, I cannot test it.
I have not tried the method you suggested yet, but I think it is necessary to install the provider’s program, because the program has some VPN usage modes to choose from, as well as servers around the world to choose from.
Losing the ability to use this program will force me to give up on macOS! That’s why I care so much about this issue.

Does a program that normally runs on M1 chips mean that it will run on newer M series chips?

Well if the functionality of this VPN client is so important you have only one chance … install it and try … it should work …
it will work on all m chips.
