Hi there, we’re sorry to hear that you encountered payment issues while trying out Surfshark. Unfortunately in this case, there’s nothing we can do, Apple Store handles subscriptions from their side, so you will have to wait for a reply from Apple.
Even better, once you have service, the only way to cancel is through chat where you have to ask permission to end the subscription so they can pressure you into keeping it.
It’s weird, because if I did (i don’t think i have and, if i have it was over 4 years ago) then it should have let me know it wouldn’t be a free trial. But even in the subscription area on apple it says its the free trial and lasts 7 days, then billed yearly.
I’ve put a request in to apple just waiting for a response now.
Actually with apple they really need to go to apple they have the money and transfer it after the cut to Surfshark.
Only apple can refund the charge ( even by law in most cases to fight money laundering and stuff and tax fraud ).
Not say “It shouldnt be like that”. You don’t find that response strange when they clearly messed up?
Apple got a “weird” way , if OP ever had before the 7day trial they still offer it but charge instantly ( cause non eligible for a 7 day trial anymore )
its really apples payment processing google is in a similiar bad way but often still reminds you your not eligible for a trial but not allways.
