Howdy

So, my friend who lives in Myanmar told me that her government has started banning VPNs and websites like Facebook and Instagram. Is there any solution for her?

If she’s not too concerned with speed there are a few options that are free and operated as public-benefit organizations.

https://psiphon.ca/ (created by CitizenLab which is affiliated with the University of Toronto, but now seems to be its own company)

https://www.nthlink.com/ (Funded by Google Jigsaw and the Open Technology Fund).

If she’s willing to pay, she can try setting up her own Outline node Outline VPN – access to the free and open Internet, the setup is very user friendly.

Tailscale, Tor Browser, good VPN.

Yes

On android, she should get the app v2rayng, on iOS Shadowrocket (or if she can‘t pay, Streisand)

On the website vpn.fail, you can get free proxies, get one there that is v2ray. Try it out first, if it works fine, give it to her

I suggest this site to check the vpn location, vpn.fail sometimes shows something wrong https://whatismyipaddress.com

Try freebrowser.org - we built it for China but it will work in Myanmar.

I just tried the nthlink. It works pretty well here in Myanmar. Thanks.
