How to setup VPN in andriod without APP/APK

In settings there is option to add VPN manually without app and connect does anyone know how to do this?

Some sort of client you will need, either the Proton App, an OpenVPN, WireGuard or IKEv2 app:

Honestly I‘d just get the Proton VPN app, to benefit from the advanced options you don‘t have in the manual configurations

Agreed, avoiding the app seems misguided. It’s open source, you can even get it on F-Droid if you’re trying to avoid Google.

You’ll need the server adress and the password. Theses can be found in your account if my memory is correct. Then on android go to connections, more connections and vpn, the add vpn profile

well I want it to work with routines so I can automatically connect

If you use the always on VPN function of Android, it will automatically connect (and optionally block your connections entirely if it can’t).

I’m not sure if that solves your problem.
