Does using a VPN get you banned?

I’m away on holiday in China and just want to log in to Unite to claim my daily membership gems. However, I know that logging in with a VPN can get you banned in some mobile games (e.g. call of duty mobile). Anyone have any experience logging in with a VPN?

(Not looking to play any games as I know the latency will be unplayable.)

Your membership gems now get saved for you even if you don’t log in, up to 200 gems, iirc. Not an exact answer to your question but maybe you don’t have to risk it?

Personally I’ve never heard of any bans from using a VPN. In fact I only heard that some other countries need to use a VPN to even play the game.
