To keep things short, i’ll just say that my ISP really sucks right now and my upload is extremely low. And i need the upload to stream (To Twitch, specifically).
While browsing for solutions, and after trying a few VPNS, i found cloudflare WARP and it was like a miracle. My upload immediately went from 0-2mb/s to 10k+. Not what i am paying for (25mb/s) and i still get some spikes but i can live with it right now.
The only problem i’m having is with gaming. There are two games that i wanted to stream but they won’t work while connected to WARP.
The games are: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Warzone 2.0 and Europa Universalis 4.
Now, i need to say that there are games that i play that i have no problems at all, like League of Legends and Apex Legends for example. But those two won’t let me connect to multiplayer matches.
Warzone specifically keeps crashing because of it (i don’t know why, but i tested, tested it again and one more time and it was always after i connected to cloudflare WARP).
I tried using HTTPS, TLS and WARP. I tried using the beta version. No difference at all.
So what i’m asking is: Is there any other software that does what cloudflare WARP does? Or is there any way to block certain softwares/.exe from connecting with it?
Don’t know if this comment will be relevant for an older post, but I’ll type it anyways.
I was facing an error while trying to stream twitch.tv from my browser while connected to Cloudflare WARP+. It was showing error #2000 (failed to initialize player or whatever).
I went to WARP application → Preferences → Advanced → Exclude Split Tunnels.
Clicked on the plus (+) icon and selected “Domain” (instead of “IP/prefix”) and added “twitch.tv” and a random description.
Twitch seems to be working now without any issues.
Hey. Generally i know what i’m doing when i mess with things, as in i have some knowledge about some stuff. But in this case i don’t. I know almost nothing about connections and such. So i really don’t know what you just said or where to start doing that
Nope, it is unlimited. You can also subscribe to WARP+ if you want more speed. In my experience the free WARP is fast enough for everyday task (I’m getting 10-15Mb/s)
Basically, you can make only your Twitch to go through Warp, while the game you’re playing to be excluded and use your regular Internet.
HOW? Please, i can’t seem to make tunneling work on WARP the way you said. And that is exactly what i want. That Twitch is the only thing that goes through WARP. Or that i can exclude certain .exes like my games from WARP
You can follow the other comment’s thread to know more about this, but a TL;DR is that you need a vpn with wireguard or openvpn (openvpn have slower connections, at least for me)
Mullvad can work, but it’s paid. Nordvpn and ipvanish didn’t work for me. Hopefully you can find another VPN provider that can work.
You’ll have to look for the domains or IPs to include/exclude, as it doesn’t work based on exe or app.
Also, another workaround is to enable local proxy. This basically creates a proxy IP address that you can add to your browser or app, and only those apps will go through Cloudflare. However, they have to support proxy in their network settings.
Let me know how it goes or if you have issues at a specific point, and we’ll try to find a solution
No, there wouldn’t be a domain name for games. Theoretically, for games if we could find the IP address that they are using to access the net then we could potentially resolve the issue. I don’t know if this helps, but you can try adding the “localhost IP” of your system.
Just open command prompt and type “ipconfig”
Check the IPv4 address and put that in the list the same way for twitch domain. However, here you need to select “Ip/prefix” instead of domain.
