Choosing a Lifetime VPN (listed)

I have a variety of lifetime VPNs available to me and I would like to select one. My purposes: mainly torrenting and occasional streaming.

The list includes:

  1. SlickVPN
  2. BulletVPN
  3. KeepSolid
  4. Ivacy
  5. VPN Unlimited
  6. Fastest VPN
  7. Disconnect VPN
  8. iProVPN
  9. BelkaVPN
  10. Hop VPN
  11. Seed4.Me

Wondering if any of these stand out as 100% avoid and if any are “okay” enough for my purposes. I’m not a power user in any regard and this will be very occasional use.

I think Proton is best right now - Nord has really seen a lot of degradation over the last few months and I’m pretty sure they don’t log or sell your data.

I’m certain because they follow swiss privacy standards which are pretty reliable IMO. It’s your call but you still might want to check out this offer on their website. If anything else doesn’t, the discount will prolly sway you to Proton.

None of these are actually worth your money. And for a lifetime VPN, big NO.

You should only go for a lifetime VPN if you actually want to be the product and want them to sell your browsing data. If I were you, I would simply go for this VPN service. It’s the best there is and seems like free for the quality of service you get.

This has been asked before, it’s the list from StackSocial?

To recap the last time we discussed this:

  • None of them, they’re all quite poor and lack port forwarding

  • Lifetime VPNs are a huge red flag, probably monetize your data

  • If you absolutely must, then BulletVPN is the least shit

I wouldn’t use any of them for free.

My purposes: mainly torrenting

Then look out for port-forwarding support. Can’t comment about anything else

Ivacy sucks. Stacksocial sucks. Don’t buy from both.

That’s correct, thanks

Can you clarify what makes Bullet a notch above the rest?

Thanks I’ll look into that

tried it out with the cheap lifetime sub, no port forwarding, so limits torrenting somewhat.

I agree with u/daiqo. All garbage, really, but BulletVPN is the least shit. I have it. It is better than the rest because it is the only one the supports WireGuard. (Also WireGuard manual configs, so I don’t need to use their shitty app). Streaming works at times - you can contact support and they’re helpful (but slow).

Ivacy, FastestVPN, and iProVPN are all resell bandwidth from PureVPN (Gaditek owned, Pakistan based, gave up logs to the FBI in the past), so they’re the shittiest in even this list. KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is US based and severely restricts torrenting, also keeps logs. HopVPN is iPhone only, and BelkaVPN is so shady that their privacy policy is a Google Doc LOL (need I say more?)

Good luck, and feel free to shoot any more questions you might be having. Happy to help.

their privacy policy is a Google Doc LOL

Genius

the only one the supports WireGuard

What’s this used for?

BulletVPN Streaming works at times

Does it work for Netflix? I’m in Canada and cannot unblock Netflix US.

Where is BulletVPN based out of?

That’s kinda funny because I have PureVPN from StackSocial but they are refusing to renew the lifetime membership. I actually like PureVPN but I don’t use it for downloading; just general purpose things very seldom. Unfortunately it does not unblock Netflix.

It’s really good to know those guys are all connected! I saw a couple good reviews about Ivacy but now I know to stay clear.

VPN Unlimited

This is the only other one in the list that I see standing out at being decent, at least reading about people who have been satisfied with it. Maybe it’s okay for streaming but not much else?

What about windscribe vpn?

You won’t be able to connect to any other peer that is also unconnectable from outside, which will limit your speeds and peers. It won’t affect all torrents, but harder to download ones, old and rare, will become nearly impossible to use.

I wish I were joking. :stuck_out_tongue:

WireGuard is the newest lean-clean-mean-sexy protocol that is much more sophisticated and performant than older protocols like OpenVPN and IKEv2.

You are in for disappointment with Netflix unblocking with any VPN. Netflix’s latest block has made almost all VPNs useless. I test VPNs regularly and even unblocking champs (of the old days) like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, etc. are now useless. It works maybe 1 in 10 times. It is too unreliable. No VPN can help you right now, sadly.

And yes, PureVPN is an asshole company. (Fuck you r/PureVPNcom). They don’t honour their own Lifetime offer, gave up logs in the past, have so many sub-brands like Ivacy, SaferVPN, etc. Yuck.

VPN Unlimited is by KeepSolid (I say this because you listed them separately). It is average at best. It keeps logs (mentioned in the logging policy) and severely restricts torrenting (as far as I remember, one can only torrent on the France - Strasbourg location). It will still not get you Netflix unblocked reliably. Try your luck, maybe.

BulletVPN is based out of Estonia and is not bad at streaming - they list it as one of their main strengths, and they do unblock funky stuff like 9Now, 10Play Australia, BBC iPlayer, Netflix (in the past). If you need anything unblocked, contact their support team and they will try to help you - no worries there.

I really like it. I subscribe to it and Mullvad.

Oh no! That’s terrible news. Gone are the good days when nearly anything could unblock Netflix. :frowning:

All aboard the Fuck you PureVPN train!

They should appropriately rename their account to PureVPNcon.

Well thank you, I think it’s clear Bullet is different from the rest and gives the best odds of offering decent value so I’ll give them a shot

PureVPN is an asshole company. They don’t honour their own Lifetime offer

I’m now searching for a new VPN because of this. I was never a big fan of PureVPN but it got the job done. Now that I am supposed to renew it they said I can’t and offered “KeepSolid” instead. I’m not sure it’s worth it even though it’d technically be “Free” (due to my previous agreement being void).
