Any opinions about “Hotspot Shield”?
I hated it. There was issues with my Gmail when using it. It was a bad connection, and other things that I don’t remember.
I had their student plan for a year.
I can’t speak to data mining or anything. But I use their elite version. It’s blocked by Hulu, but not Netflix or BBC. It’s stable and reliable.
If you are looking for a free VPN, I would suggest you to use tunnelbear or PureVPN. In terms of performance, I think they are the best at the moment.
I haven’t used the elite version of Hutspot shield, so I don’t know much about it. But its free version sucks!
want to know another reason? YOU CAN’T FUCKING UNINSTALL IT
Hotspot Shield is entirely ad and consumer data funded. They log almost all information about their users, and, by using their VPN service, you are forced to tunnel all of your information right to their servers and, subsequently, anyone to which they want to sell you.
Their customer support is terrible, it took me almost 2 months to get a refund. I highly recommend Private Internet Access, bar none the best vpn I’ve used.
I’ve had to contact PIA support a few times, but I’ve never experienced twenty minutes between each reply. I’m going to say this is a little exaggerated; unless you are disconnecting from chat each time, and starting a new chat session each time. Even then, is quite exaggerated from my experience.
